Challenge
Lumios was a mental health startup launching a mobile platform during the early waves of COVID-19. The goal: deliver emotional support at scale. But early prototypes felt clinical and disconnected. My challenge was to create an app experience that felt safe, human, and relatable.

Solution
I led creative direction across UX, content design, and overall brand identity. The goal was not to “fix” people—but to build trust with presence, tone, and space.

Key decisions:
- Tone of voice: Empathetic, never prescriptive (“You’re not broken. You’re responding.”)
- Visual identity: Muted palettes, soft transitions, no loud calls to action
- UX flow: Micro-journaling, mood check-ins, and AI-generated prompts that respected user pace
- Daily content: Short, low-friction exercises designed for fragile attention spans during lockdown

Impact
- Increased daily active use among beta testers
- Positive feedback from early adopters struggling with anxiety and burnout
- Supported partnership conversations with healthcare providers and therapy platforms
“This doesn’t feel like an app telling me what to do. It feels like something that’s listening.”
